MEDITATION
How We Will Spend Our Time Together
Our time together is an inner experience offered through a personalized meditation as each individual will experience something uniquely different through contemplation. This offering explores three different types of meditation; guided, sensory and sharing in hopes that when we are quiet and listen to others, we experience God within and return to our true selves.
In this winter/spring season of Inner Wilderness, we will be doing a series of meditations by Michael Gungor of the Littergists Podcast using the Sedona Method to move through the nine emotional states that we can find ourselves in. The Sedona Method in essence is a method of releasing and comes down to surrender. We will use a different medium to experience the Sedona Method by tapping into our emotions and stories that might come into our awareness and experience through meditation instead of physical sensations.
There are nine emotional states in which we experience and we will work through two emotions at a time. As we explore them, we will be invited deeper into our present life identifying and fully feeling some of these emotions that maybe we’re not even aware of being present in our current experience. The more dense emotions of apathy, grief, and fear, tend to be harder to move, they’re harder to let the energy flow into useful productive living and action and feeling. As we release one emotion, the energy tends to move into a less dense state and they move upward into lust, anger and pride. As the emotions continue to move up into courage, acceptance and peace, they tend to be more and more spacious, more and more open to a more beautiful and full experience of our lives.
These meditations on our nine emotional states is a noticing and a releasing. Rather than freezing these feelings into an unconscious shadow that is controlling us in ways that we wouldn’t prefer, we allow them to come into the light, to be felt and released so we can move forward into the present moments we are in.
Here is the order in which you will receive your personal meditation:
Guided Meditation.
Sensory Meditation. We will have stations prepared for deeper connection and contemplation that tap into our senses. There will consistently be a station with quotes, art, time to journal, candle lighting and thoughts captured on dissolvable paper that you can place in water as a symbol of letting go.
Sharing Meditation. This time for sharing is held for our personal growth and to understand each other on a deeper level. Like all learning circles, we ask that you respect the learning circle guidelines as follows:
Togetherness: Please share freely, from the heart and respect the views of others.
Silence: We must remember that our insights arise through silence and often become a holy experience.
Understanding: We will experience greater understanding when we see differing views as an opportunity for growth.
Participation: It’s important to feel safe and free to think out loud.
Confidential: What is shared in this circle needs to be kept confidential to ensure a safe place.
